A statement from the Tampa Bay Chamber:

The Coronavirus (COVID-19) has caused a disruption in business for almost every organization in Tampa Bay and across the globe. The Tampa Bay Chamber is committed to working together and supporting all businesses during this uncertain time.

Our Chamber is supportive of the City of Tampa’s effort to declare a Shelter in Place order for the City of Tampa. While we are supportive of the business community in continuing to keep commerce moving, we know that this is an unprecedented medical crisis that requires us to put the safety and well-being of our community at the forefront of importance.

“Our community was strong before this pandemic and I’m confident that if we all work together, we will be even stronger after. We need to think in terms of our entire community’s health and safety and use extreme caution as this health crisis is threatening our community at large,” said Bob Rohrlack, President & CEO of the Tampa Bay Chamber.

Working together, Tampa Bay will get through this with minimal impact if make the effort of declaring a shelter in place order and limiting contact between individuals. We also need to continue to follow the guidance set forth by The Florida Health Department and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
