A statement from the Tampa Bay Chamber and our Memorandum of Understanding Partners:

South Tampa Chamber of Commerce, Ybor City Chamber of Commerce, Uptown Chamber of Commerce, North Tampa Bay Chamber, Greater Plant City Chamber of Commerce, Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce, Tampa Bay LGBT Chamber, Greater Brandon Chamber of Commerce, Tampa Downtown Partnership, and the Westshore Alliance:

The collective Tampa Bay area chambers and business groups respect the Hillsborough County and City’s leadership in issuing the Safer at Home Order. While we support continued commerce, we know that this is an unprecedented medical crisis that requires us to put the safety and well-being of our community at the forefront.

“If we can get ahead of this issue by limiting the exposure of our community and its people to others then we can help to prevent the widespread transmission of this pandemic in our region. What the Emergency Policy Group had to do to get us here was difficult but necessary and we appreciate their leadership,” said Bob Rohrlack, President and CEO of the Tampa Bay Chamber.
