One of the key initiatives of the Chamber’s Workforce Development Committee is to engage the business community and inspire meaningful academic partnerships. Throughout the years we’ve hosted events that bring together employers and academic institutions to better understand how they can partner to build the Tampa Bay talent pipeline.
The Hillsborough Community College- Dale Mabry Campus A.S. Internship Program is seeking Tampa area companies to collaborate with and offer internships, job shadowing opportunities, and/or act as mentors for their Business Administration students.
Mentoring: Career advice, professional skills development, and networking to help college students succeed in the work world. Time commitments are flexible ranging from 2-3 meetings a semester up to bi-weekly meetings over 15 weeks.

Internship: A professional learning experience that offers meaningful, practical work related to a student's field of study or career interest. An internship can be paid or unpaid.
Job Shadowing: This consists of offering opportunities for students to participate in job experiences. Students can spend full days or half days with your company, learning aspects of a specific career. Times are flexible and vary depending on a company’s schedule.
If you are interested in hosting an intern or allowing one or more students to visit your business and observe an employee as they work to get a better understanding of their career, please click here.
This is an excellent time to give back to the community and facilitate the success of future entrants into the business profession. If you’d like to receive more information, please contact William Kornegay, HCC Internship and Workforce Development Specialist at 813.253.7109 or [email protected].
