Last week, The Tampa Bay Chamber, South Tampa Chamber of Commerce, and the Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce, jointly, announced their support of ferry service connecting South Hillsborough County to MacDill Air Force Base.

This week support across the region continues to grow as other community partners back expanded ferry service. The Tampa Downtown Partnership, North Tampa Bay Chamber, and Ybor City Chamber of Commerce have also joined in supporting the ferry services that will promote interconnectivity throughout the Tampa Bay region.

The Pinellas Board of County Commission will vote later today to finalize the interlocal agreement with Hillsborough County, the City of St. Petersburg, and the City of Tampa for the Cross Bay Ferry Inter-City (between St. Pete and Downtown Tampa). Tomorrow, the Hillsborough Board of County Commission will vote to approve the public private partnership with the ferry’s project developer, paving the way for South Hillsborough County to MacDill AFB ferry service.

Both ferry services are crucial in providing transportation options to local residents and tourists alike as our region continues to look for opportunities and solutions to transportation concerns.
