A native of Clearwater, Katie Lopez moved to the Fort Campbell, KY region in 2013, while her husband was assigned to the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault). She began working for the Christian County Chamber of Commerce in 2014 as the Director of Military & Governmental Affairs and was named the 2017 Staff Member of the Year by the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Executives. Katie holds a Master of Arts in Social Responsibility and Sustainable Communities and a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies in Social and Behavioral Sciences from Western Kentucky University.
Since joining the Tampa Bay Chamber in 2018, the community has been recognized nationally for their efforts to support military families to include: the Association of Defense Community’s Great American Defense Community Award, Hiring Our Heroes Three-Star Chamber of Valor Award, and the Hiring Our Heroes Military Spouse Community of the Year Award. Lopez led the efforts to recruit the Hiring Our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program and Military Spouse Economic Empowerment Zone to Tampa Bay.
Lopez serves on the Mission United Advisory Council, leads the “Hire Pillar” subcommittee of the Tampa Military Spouse Economic Empowerment Zone, and is an Alumni Ambassador for her alma mater.
