Tampa, Fla. – The Tampa Bay Chamber is recruiting for its fourth cohort of the Minority Business Accelerator (MBA). This program helps Black and Hispanic business owners who are concerned with their lack of business growth and want to learn how to compete in the market more effectively. The MBA helps these businesses identify and overcome growth barriers, connect to corporate decision makers, and uncover potential funding opportunities. By providing practical tools for change, program participants are positioned to increase capacity, create jobs, and build wealth.
The Community Information Session will be held on Wednesday, August 12th from 6:00-7:00pm on Zoom. The information session is held prior to the application period to allow business owners to learn more about the program before applying. Applications will be available at www.TampaBayChamber.com/MBA starting on Thursday, August 13th and will close on September 15th at 5pm. The participants for the fourth cohort will be announced at the Chamber’s 135th Annual Meeting on December 10th.
The Minority Business Accelerator kicked off in December 2017 with the announcement of the first cohort at the Chamber’s Annual Meeting. Since then, the first cohort graduated from the program in November of 2019. There are two cohorts currently going through the program, with one of the two graduating later this year.
