Title:                           Manager, Minority and Workforce Development

Reports To:                Senior Director, Military & Workforce Development
                                  Senior Director, Minority Business Accelerator
                                  CareerSource Tampa Bay

Location:                   Tampa, FL

Objective

Provides support for all Tampa Bay Chamber workforce development and minority programs and events in alignment with the Tampa Bay Chamber Vision 2026 pillars. This position is in partnership with CareerSource Tampa Bay (CSTB) and as such, this position will be an employee of CSTB.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and oversee meeting logistics for the Minority Empowerment Program.
  • Provide support to the Minority Business Accelerator and Minority Empowerment Program through metric collection and impact data analysis.
  • Plan and oversee all event logistics for the Work Redefined Series to include speaker coordination, content development, and execution.
  • Develop a diversity analysis of the Workforce Development Committee and recruit Chamber members from target industries to participate.
  • Connect Tampa Bay Chamber members with Academic Advisory Board opportunities.
  • Plan and oversee meeting logistics for the biannual Workforce Housing Community Partner meetings.
  • Assist with administrative duties for Operation Partnership and Transition Tampa Bay: Industry Connect events.
  • Strategically connect military affiliated talent with Chamber member employers for career exploration opportunities.
  • Plan and oversee meeting logistics for the Workforce Development Committee.
  • Documents all process and procedures as necessary related to job duties and responsibilities.
  • Supports the programmatic and administrative needs of Chamber staff who lead Chamber Minority and Workforce programs committees, programs, taskforces, and caucuses.
  • Utilizes the member database to support the overall member experience by assisting Membership with referring members to CareerSource Tampa Bay.
  • Embodies Vision 2026 in all activities and responsibilities.
  • Support all Chamber signature events.
  • As needed, serves on the event support team for Chamber programs and events, some of which are outside normal working hours and are offsite.
  • Maintains an extensive knowledge of all Chamber programs, services, initiatives, and activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Specifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, or commensurate with experience
  • 3 -5 years program leadership and project management experience
  • Non-profit/membership association experience preferred
  • Experience with database management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated, self-managing problem-solver with the capacity to successfully work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Must conduct yourself in a professional manner
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • High proficiency in using and hosting Zoom meetings and webinars
  • Ability to learn and effectively and efficiently use Chamber management and database software
  • Committed to service excellence in all areas
  • Excellent organization skills, including multitasking, time management, and attention to detail
  • Ability and confidence to communicate with members
  • Able to perform job function with minimal daily supervision

Relationships/Accountabilities

  • Accountable to staff members by ensuring their support needs and requests are met timely, efficiently, and accurately in a friendly, engaged, and professional manner.
  • Accountable to members and volunteers by ensuring their needs are met and questions answered in a timely, friendly, engaged, and professional manner.
  • Accountable to the Senior Director, Minority Business Accelerator and Senior Director, Military and Workforce Development by ensuring that all tasks and duties are completed accurately by the specified deadline.
  • Accountable to the Vice President of Business and Community Development at CareerSource Tampa Bay.
  • Works cooperatively and positively with all Chamber staff members and volunteers to promote an environment of excellence, teamwork, dignity, and respect.
  • Exhibits a total commitment to maintaining high quality service standards of the Tampa Bay Chamber; demonstrates service excellence skills in dealing proactively with members, visitors, colleagues, and all Chamber contacts.
