US Department of Transportation releases final report on Future of Traffic Beyond Traffic 2045 looks at the transportation challenges that face the nation over the next 30 years. The report predicts that the current system of transportation will not be able to support the demands of the country over the next three decades. Tampa Bay is one of the top 10 most dangerous areas for Pedestrian In a report released by Smart Growth America, the top most dangerous metropolitan areas for pedestrians are in Florida with Tampa Bay ranking number 7. Hillsborough Area Regional Transportation Authority names new Chair On Monday, the HART board of directors voted to approve County Commissioner Les Miller as the boards new Chairman.  Commissioner Miller replaces City Council Chairman Mike Suarez as the board’s chair. Cross-Bay Ferry’s Second Month of Ridership Numbers Reported The Cross-Bay Ferry is reporting strong ridership numbers for the month of December. In its second month of operation, there have been 13,000 passengers traveling between Tampa and St. Petersburg.  The Ferry contract will run from November 2016 through April 2017.
